Welcome Avatar! Last week, the brawl between Gemini and DCG heated up, with the Winklevoss twins (Gemini founders) making their final proposal for the resolution of Gemini’s claims. Most notably, the Winklevoss twins are now actively pushing for personal responsibility from Barry Silbert.
In general, corporate brawls tend to stay.. corporate. Sure, people can dislike each other, debate and maybe even yell at each other, but these battles tend to stay between the companies rather than the people. There are both legal and social considerations here. LLCs are legal structures for organizations that make it so that you are not personally liable for losses at the corporate level.
Furthermore, there is an unspoken understanding between corporate figures that you do not go after someone personally. Why? Well, if you go after someone personally, they might come after you personally. All your personal information may end up being public by way of the legal process (namely, your financial dealings). Wealthy people tend to have an apprehension towards revealing intimate details about their personal lives, especially their finances. That means people typically won’t (and often can’t) go after each other personally unless it gets really messy.
