Rather than this or that token, I'd love to hear how you think, your framework and strategies.
Particularly with regards to:
(1) How to analyse staking, yield farming and LP opportunities. What to consider regarding the risk-reward profile when doing those.
(2) How to extract yield out of the core holdings BTB recommends (BTC/wBTC, ETH, LINK and SUSHI). That includes staking, LP and LP token staking if feasible.
Adding to this, how do evaluate the impairment risk versus potential yield generated in a pool. And secondly what steps do you take to protect your capital from hacks, i.e. do you purchase insurance?
Also, discords you use or how to find them, etc. would be of major help. I can find some, but know I’m missing a ton of information. Sometimes it’s tough to hunt for these and you get yourself down a weird rabbit hole.
100% this. The mechanics of how to find new projects, red flags for potential rug pulls, clues to get in or out of farming projects, etc. I’m not asking for a ‘go into this project’ as opposed to how to identify potentially big projects (ie ohm a few months back). Also saw DeFiGod mention banana the other day on the twitterz.
For Cardano, the consensus outside Cardano seems that hype/marketing works really well, the Price bias for normies and the "ethereum cofounder/deep PhD research" seems to be working well. I mean Avalanche exists already, why bother with that.
Hey Defi education team, apart from covering projects, is it possible to cover the practical aspects of engaging in Defi too? I know some of these fall in the NGMI category but still useful for newbies:
(1) how to do a sense check on an ETH smart contract eg. How to check whether it has multisig and time lock?
(2) how to determine the optimal times for compounding eg. Can use compoundornot.com
(3) avoiding stupid mistakes eg. Approving a contract but forgotting to deposit. Relying on gas prices metamask tells you instead of checking and setting manually.
(4) not understanding what slippage is when depositing into a pool. Eg. If a pool has more of token X than token Y. Depositing Y will give positive slippage. However this does not mean that you should just deposit Y. You should consider what your starting point is. If you start in USD, it may turn out that depositing X (though incurring negative slippage in the pool) is better as the exchange rate from USD to X is better.
Sure I left out alot of stuff.
Thanks for the great work and can't wait for Sushi!
I'm craving stories about actually using SushiSwap and not just valuation of the protocol itself. From my talentless middle manager perspective, it's hard to know if you're getting appropriately compensated for risk through any of their pools: it's basically a casino where the odds aren't posted, but might be amazing? i.e. what are some sample strategies that seam risk appropriate from your perspective? You're doing great work, ty!
Tendieswap - a decentralized gambling ecosystem rivaling polymarket on bsc and also bridging to matic soon. Aggregator dex is also being built and partnered with chainlink to deliver the first ever doge price feeds for predictions. Developed by similarly minded ex wall street bankers and hedge fund guys and sushi devs.
I'll be reading up on this, from the quick glance I gave at their gitbook it looks pretty interesting ngl and I think I've heard of it in the past. Thanks!
OHM would be interesting. Some kind of look at the whole FTX ecosystem would be useful (FTT/SRM/RAY) and what might be coming up next there.
Like Tercio, I'm interested in techniques as much as specific projects - how to use options effectively, how to identify good yield farms while derisking as much as possible, that sort of thing. If we want to be more active than simply holding and staking coins, what are the best ways to do it?
Would be great to have a change of pace in the formatting of articles. So instead of inspecting the financial details of a single project, different topics could be covered:
- Examples of past trades broken down in great detail as an example of *how* to trade. For example, I would guess many of your readers don't understand how to build trades on say Curve.fi. The authors have mentioned various trades in Tweetstorms, but I think these tweets may not have gone into enough detail. Eg, stake Eth on Lido then do what with the resulting token? Borrow then do what?
- A guide to basic financial analysis and trading literacy. Where should we go to understand DCF analysis? What concepts should your readers understand? I suspect crypto twitter does not really understand leverage, perpetuals, shorts, etc. "What determines that longs pay shorts and vice versa?" Arthur Hayes occasionally hints at more advanced trading in articles such as https://blog.bitmex.com/all-aboard/ . Short of working at an investment bank, or being gifted with autism, I suspect most people need a guide on what to learn and where to learn these concepts.
- A detailed guide on staking Ethereum. Tradeoffs of running your own node vs. using Lido. What to do with staked tokens.
- More projects+concepts within the Solana ecosystem

Looking forward to Sushi.
Keep up the good work!

+1
Tokens will come and go, but logic will still be the same.

Olympus - would be interested to hear your long term opinion and its sustainability
Tokemax - new project that is all the rage right now
Cardano - because everyone thinks it's a scam, but the price keeps going up suggesting the market may know something

Polygon/Matic. Seems like a lot of activity.
Matic and Solana would be covered on BTB. Being researched as we speak it isn't really DeFi and we have tons to cover here in the future
also Duck seems like he has some interesting thoughts on this
Same
I'd like this one too.

I don’t wanna say it… I don’t wanna say if…

Would love to learn the best opportunities to stake core holdings for yield (BTC, ETH, LINK, SUSHI, etc).

Nothing like tendie in the space. Honestly never had more conviction in another project in my life.

i dig this project, backing anything the Wiz is participating in is always interesting and solid
Hey the team, first thanks for your work.
Your analysis on
- $luna (by extension the terra ecosystem)
- $snx (same, Thales incoming etc..)
- $rune
- $badger, especially with the fireblocks partnership
Would be awesome.
$toke tokemak and $dpx dopex are both really interesting, but likely too early for deep analysis.
OHM please
Also curious about the ugly ducklings of the space (ADA / XRP).
I have yet to find a proper reasoned analysis as to why they will fail beyond *Shreek banker coin*, *Shreek hype coin*, *Shreek Hoskinson*.
Yet they are both firmly in the top 10, and the guys on the technical side don't seem to be idiots.
As Scar said maybe the market knows something we don't, so it might be worth exploring.

LUNA please! Great work so far, thanks
