Introducing LizardOS: The Ultimate Software Solution for Crypto Security
Level 2 - Value Investor
Welcome Avatar!
We have an important update on the last laptop you’ll ever need for crypto.
We're thrilled to announce that after months of development, BowTiedIguana's bespoke security solution, LizardOS, is now ready for public launch. Designed with crypto users in mind, LizardOS offers unparalleled security and privacy, ensuring your digital assets are protected.
Why Choose LizardOS?
Privacy-focused: We've shifted from a hardware-based product to a software solution, allowing you to maintain your privacy. No need for physical shipping addresses — LizardOS is buyable with BTC from anywhere in the world.
Tamper-free: A SHA256 digital signature from Iguana ensures you receive a genuine, tamper-free copy of the software, the same as every other user.
Transparent Code: LizardOS is open for inspection by anyone, including security experts. Review the code and verify its integrity.
Reasons it’s Not for You
You’ll need a new laptop: We are only supporting limited hardware at this time.
Not Mac compatible: If that’s a dealbreaker for you, we’d still recommend having a separate secure laptop for crypto but LizardOS is not compatible with Macs.
No 3D Accelerated Games (or rendering): Standard operating systems allow programs to read information off the screen from other applications, posing a significant security risk. LizardOS ensures that programs cannot directly access the graphics card, safeguarding your information from potential threats. The trade-off is that 3D accelerated games will not be available. Browser-based crypto games (like DeFi Kingdoms) will still be compatible.
Supported Hardware
LizardOS is made for the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon (9th or 10th gen) with a minimum of 32GB RAM. Please note that you'll need to purchase this laptop separately.
Limited, Rolling Release
To manage demand and ensure a smooth onboarding process, LizardOS will be released in limited batches on a rolling basis:
Early adopters can purchase LizardOS at a discounted price of $499*
After initial onboarding, LizardOS will be available for the full price of $799
Academy members will receive a $100 discount on the full price if membership is established before purchasing LizardOS
*Early adopters should have some technical comfort with software and be willing to provide feedback. Some users have tested the product already but we are trying to streamline the process. There will be a limited supply of 10 early adopter purchases, available on a first-come first-serve basis.
Payment & Support
Payments will be accepted in BTC. Each purchase includes a detailed user manual, 30 days of onboarding support from BowTiedIguana, and access to a permanent FAQ for all users.
You will need to put a couple of hours aside to run the install, copy documents into the new system, connect your wallet and make a test transaction, load your passwords into the password manager, and sign in somewhere with YubiKey (if applicable).
Remember, LizardOS is only officially supported on the Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon (9th or 10th gen) with a minimum of 32GB RAM. If you're technically proficient you can try a different device but support will not be provided.
Those who provide their email on this waitlist will receive an email on Saturday, April 15th at 10am Eastern Time for the early adopter drop (if you already filled out the form at the time of the first announcement, you don’t need to fill it out again). We will consider expanding the list of supported hardware down the road depending on demand.
Secure your digital assets with LizardOS — the ultimate software solution for crypto security.

Excellent, thank you.
Excellent news! Few questions ...
Q1: It's based on Qubes, right?
Q2: Will it work with a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon and a non Qwerty keyboard?
Q3: Screen resolution? WQUXGA? WUXGA? both supported?
Q4: Looking for a THINKPAD X1 CARBON GEN 9 with 32GB RAM. Seems the max RAM i can find for this version. Gen 10 seems also limited to 32GB. Where for the 64GB?
Strong interest to be an early adopter.
