Q2: Will it work with a Lenovo Thinkpad X1 Carbon and a non Qwerty keyboard?
Q3: Screen resolution? WQUXGA? WUXGA? both supported?
Q4: Looking for a THINKPAD X1 CARBON GEN 9 with 32GB RAM. Seems the max RAM i can find for this version. Gen 10 seems also limited to 32GB. Where for the 64GB?
Good questions, sounds like you're a power user and might want to hold off until after the initial wave of sales when I'll have more time to support custom configurations.
1) Yes - this is Qubes without the pain
2) I've not personally tested non Qwerty, in theory different layouts should be possible, in practice I'd need to do more research and testing.
3) Assume you mean built in, not external? If so I'd recommend against it as we'd need to include customization for HiDPI if driving that resolution on the built in display, otherwise the UI will be too small to read. And it will likely impact battery life. But. The hardware should run it, Iris Xe Graphics supports a maximum resolution of 7680x4320 at 60Hz.
Q2: Will clarify that only QWERTY is supported in the initial release, will test non-QWERTY when I have time, will make a notification to you when its done.
Q3: Correct
Q5: Lenovo has some 512GB models but would recommend 1TB
Recurring model is interesting, but that would make it even more expensive as I'd have to deal with running a licence server and processing recurring payments. My opinion: your computer should be YOURS, not phoning home to a vendor to check licence compliance.
There's nothing like this out there, we're not going to be able to do it cheaply.
There are a lot of moving parts under the hood (hypervisor, Linux kernel versions, device drivers) and to ensure that everything works as people would expect (especially suspend/sleep for laptops) we can only recommend and support devices we've personally tested. In future we may support desktop/workstations as there is demand for these from software developers.
Within the X1 Carbon series not having much luck finding 1TB SSD or anything over 32 MB RAM. Most are 512/32. And some of those are Gen 11. Would this be sufficient or just grab the gen 10 with similar specs?
Excellent, thank you.
Excellent news! Few questions ...
Q1: It's based on Qubes, right?

Strong interest to be an early adopter.

4) Thinkpad X1 Extreme has a 64GB option
Q2: I assume you will provide support for it?
Q3: So WUXGA (1 920 x 1 200) preferred, correct?
Q5: Storage: What's the minimum? I am looking for 1 TB storage.
Thanks for your answers.

Thanks. Laptop ordered.
Excellent!
- Expecting non QWERTY support soon :-)
- Buying LizardOS. Waiting transaction to be confirmed.
- Also waiting for the new laptop to be delivered.
Its seems too expensive, why not selling the support/update of the OS (for months/years) instead of a big upfront price ?
Its because you are afraid that someone copy/steal your work ?

Now just need to get a Thinkpad with cash.
Why the extremely limited choice of hardware compatibility?

Which hardware would you like to see supported?
Thank you for your reply. I asked out of general interest, I would not be buying rather creating my own cubes OS setup.
